The Emerging Economies Forum, convened as part of the World Governments Summit 2026, in collaboration with India Global Forum, brought together heads of state, ministers, policymakers, investors, and business leaders to focus on how growth, governance, and capital are being reshaped across fast-growing economies.
Opening the Forum, Manoj Ladwa, Chairman of India Global Forum, made a clear case: economies once described as “emerging” are no longer catching up to the global system - they are increasingly shaping it. He addressed was followed by H.E. Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, UAE and H.E. Duma Gideon Boko, President of Botswana, who reinforced this view. The opening session reflected a shared agreement that the next phase of global growth will be driven by stronger collaboration, credible institutions, and the ability to convert scale and technology into long-term outcomes.
Discussions throughout the Forum centred on long-term capital, digital public infrastructure, and practical cross-border cooperation, alongside the need for institutions, technology, and trust to evolve together. Drawing on a range of perspectives, including India’s experience, participants highlighted how indigenous innovation and people-to-people connections—particularly through global diasporas - are reshaping economic leadership.
The conclusion was unambiguous: emerging economies are not following the future - they are building it.
